...“We stayed at the May Hotel twice. We were a family group of 9 so had 5 rooms. All very clean and comfortable also did some laundry and found the service excellent. The swimming pool on the roof top is opened and is beautiful we used it regularly to cool down & relax after a day of sight seeing.
The location is very good only 3-5 mins. from the city centre & the Hyatt Hotel. We walked everywhere! The staff were very helpful and efficient. We organised a private 16 seater car & guide for the Chu Chi tunnels at the Hotel for $US130f or 9 people-the service was great and we had a great time. They also organised our airport transfer for $US25 for the 9 of us and gave each of us a breakfast box as we had to checkout at 5.30am before breakfast opened. We enjoyed the breakfast-choice of western of asian and the manager had excellent english with an american accent . We would definitely return to the May.”

"Travelled with family and a large group of friends to Vietnam. Stayed at the May twice (before and after travelling to Hoi An). The May is in walking distance to the CBD of HCMC. It's surrounded by a massive array of Asian and western restaraunts, cheap laundry (across the road) a cheap taxi ride from the airport (as long as you get a reputable taxi company and he uses the meter!). The rooms are spotlessly clean and the check in process was trouble free. Beds are hard (aren't they all in SE Asia?) and the airconditioning is great. Water pressure is fine. The pool is still not finished so ignore their websit for now... Be careful if upgrading your room from an internet booked rate (via someone like Asia Rooms) to the over the counter rate. We thought we'd only pay a little but ended up pay quite a lot. Either way, were were not sharing the beds with the kids anymore! Breakfast is fine (remember it's only 3 stars!) with a varying menu and heaps to choose from. Realistically, I don't have too many complaints with this hotel and would stay there again (if their pool was finished!)."

"We returned to the May after being in country for 25 days and traveling all the way to Sa Pa and back. We liked the May the first time and since we were flying out of the airport there it was a choice we wanted to make. I wrote about the May the first time, but now want to re-form my opinion after seeing other hotels. The room this time was moderate but the same price. I guess we had a deal before. The service was still nice but lacked something this time. Room was till very clean and live-able. My only major change is the breakfast. As one writer before me has written, it's not up to par with the price of the room. We had been in many hotels by now and having done so made me realize how subpar this breakfast is comparatively. That's it. I would recommend this hotel still, but don't exppect much from the breakfast menu. Also, we found out that they charge too much for the car pick up. $25 one way to the airport, when the 27-27-27 taxi will do the same for $6 (1000,000 dong)"
